Fuel leaking from hoses to Generator

This is the third or fourth time this has happened. The first two times, it was holes in the hoses because they were rubbing on something. This time, there is a lot more fuel coming out and I wonder if it might be loose fittings. Anyway, has this happened to anyone else and, if so, what did you to do keep it from happening again?

Our hoses disintegrated because they didn't use the correct hoses. Cummins replaced the hoses to the generator. No more problem.

I had a very similar situation although my problem was the fuel return line from the generator back to the tank. I had to drop the fuel tank and replace the hose, I had all of the hoses replaced to the point of access without dropping the tank in the future.

I would pay special attention to routing as suggested AND put a larger hose over the fuel line to prevent any future chafing.
I would also find the highest quality fuel line I could get. Even $10 a foot is cheap compared to the labor to do it over again and again.

As I was doing the research to baseline my new to us, 2004 Allure, I found many reports of older coaches not liking the new ULSD fuels. Many reports of the ULSD causing leaks in lines to generators and Aqua/Hydro Hots. So, I had my fuel lines replaced to the generator and Hydrohot. Had them use Gates Baricade, as I find that Gates makes a good quality hose. But I also suspect if you go to NAPA and get a fuel line that is ULSD compliant, you would be just fine.
Agree with routing of any hoses, to look for places of potential 'rub wear', and protect the hose with eitehr oversize split hoses in that area, or other protection wrapping.
It is not a technically challenging thing to do, just lots of bending and routing and feeding of hoses thru the access tunnels. Getting into reach the generator can be a challenge for non slide units, like in our 2004 Allure.
IMO, this was not a mistake by any of the coach builders, it was classic government (prompted by CaliKornia) passing of a law without understanding the ramifications to the exisitng fleet in service. Pure and simple, not enough research was done before forcing ULSD. This cost is still being picked up by onwers.

Thanks to all for the responses. Will be calling around to try to find someone along I-44 in MO tomorrow to see if I can find someone to do the crawling around and routing of hoses and will be sure to tell them to use Gates Baricade or similar hoses.

If you are going west bound and can make it to Tulsa, the Cummins place has worked on our coach twice with great results and reasonable prices.
