Black Film

Yahoo Message Number: 85080
We have a 2006 CC Magna which we love. We have a problem we have been unable to solve. In our Living room underneath the TV cabinetry there is a vent through which a black film comes through. At least that's where we think it is coming from because the carpeting in front of it becomes black. Also anything plastic seems to attract it, such as waste baskets, and the bags inside of it. Also when my wife wipes inside the kitchen cabinetry her rag becomes black. We have addressed it with several repair shops but so far no one has been able to fix it.
Has anyone else had this problem and if so, have you been able to fix it?

The black film is usually engine exhaust. First, have the exhaust system checked for leaks. Could be a gasket, manifold, pipe etc. After that spend some time filling any gaps (air leaks) you can find entering the interior. Holes where hoses go thru, assembly gaps, etc. A combination of the 2 should correct the issue.

It's attraction to plastic (bags and cans) suggest small particles that are attracted to the static charge.
Does it vacuum/wipe off easily? Where are you? Does it happen when moving or when stationary or both? (More information please....)
(Also, the board asks you sign you post with name, coach model and year, and number.)
