Help! Water pump problem after overfilling water t...

Jan, you don't mention how you were filling the tank,i.e. directly through the fill hole or through the valve used when connected to a water source. If it is the latter I'd almost bet it has nothing to do with the valve itself, rather it is a bad pump allowing backflow to the tank. I had this happen with a 2000 Intrigue and an 03 Allure , and it was cured by replacing the pump.
