Coolant level in tank

Need some help guys. All the miles that i have put on the coach is the trip home about 100mi and the wife said there was some red stuff coming out so when we stopped at a rest place and after looking at everything it was coming out of the radiator cap over flow hose, ELC coolant it's a Cat C9. The Aluminum Radiator was recently replaced with a STEEL & COPPER Bolt Together Radiator w/ updated rubber mountings and the level COLD is 1 1/2" from the top of the sight glass and i'm thinking there is no room for expansion then when hot then it comes out the rad cap. Do you think it should be midway in the sight glass down about 2 to 3in. Everything is new (cap, rad, coolant) what do you all think.

Floyd,

I always had that issue with my Magna along with some friends of mine. What we did was to add an after market plastic recovery bottle, similar to what you have on your car. It took a few cycles of hot/cold and adding coolant to the bottle to reach the proper level in the recovery tank, but it has solved the problem. If you do nothing, over time the tank level will stabilize; but you will probably only see coolant in the site glass when the engine is hot.

I'm thinking it shouldn't read full when cold and if it did, I would drain some out to allow for expansion. Some tanks are labeled with a cold increment.
