08 Inspire Cat 425, Cat transmission. Shifting problems

Occasionaly, when the tranny downshifts up a hill it doesn't always upshift again by stays 4th or 5th gear. I put it in neutral then again into drive and that temporarily solves the problem. I need to take it in but in the meantime has anyone had this problem. I am told that the Cat tranny is very similar to the Alison

I've been to numerous rally seminars and we were told to never put the transmission in neutral while the

coach is in motion, serious failures can result. One thing different about Allison and Cat transmissions is that the Allison is a learning transmission. That is the transmission learns from how you drive and

changes its shifting to match the driver. The Cat transmissions has to be reprogramed manually to suit

the driver. Now both can have issues. Allisons can be returned to factory settings by disconnecting

the batteries for over a minute to reset the logic. I don't recall if that might be any benefit to a cat

transmission.
