Sleep Number Bed Question

Yahoo Message Number: 87422
Hello Group:

Based on recommendations on this site, we got the Camping World Sleep Number RV Short Queen from Camping World. I can't make a recommendation yet because we have only slept on it four nights so far.
However, in a couple of weeks we are beginning our summer travel leaving from Tucson (3500 feet) for Flagstaff for our first night (over 7,000 feet).
I know I need to get the air down to zero BUT we will be leaving from storage without plugging into 30 or 50 amp. We are currently plugged into 20 amp in storage.

Question: how do you handle a situation like this?

20 amps will pump this bed up to whatever pressure you want. Besides you can use your generator to get whatever amps you want.

Shirley,

You can use your inverter or generator to power the pump. The instructions that came with our Sleep Number say to lower the sleep number to 20 (not zero) when large altitude changes are expected.
You can always release more pressure while on the road if pressure seems to building up too much - just turn on the inverter or generator.

As said, 20 amps will do fine to run the compressor. We only drop the pressure to 35 lbs when traveling. We are now traveling from 235 ft to 6000 in colorado. Have had the bed for 6 years so have made lots of adjustments.
