Installed Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Installed the "Smart Tire" in 1999 and it lasted until 2010 when the batteries went "kaput" and had it removed. Been shopping and after "over analyzing" the market decided on the TST Model 507RV, 10 sensors. This model has replaceable batteries.
Put the Valve Cap sensors on the front tires, outside duals (stems point inward), and the tow car. Installed flow through on the inside duals. Installation was relatively easy, instructions could have better but after messing with it for awhile and rereading the instructions finished the task. The tech information on the "Always Shiny Wheels" website was better than the manual that came with the unit. Used the flow through on the inside duals because I've had problems with valve extenders and use a straight chuck on both the fill and pressure gauge. Will probably use "self sealing" valve caps on the flow through. Have used them for years on the front wheels and the inside duals with no problems. If I decide to use regular valve caps I will devise a tool for putting them on.
Plan on having the tow car rubber stems replaced with steel. TST and the "seller" said it wasn't necessary.
Purchased the system from SteerSafe in Deming, I like the guy (Mike) and he's knowledgeable. Stopped in for a beer at the Elk's Lodge next door!!
Some comments: I like the monitor, cycles through the wheels, stays 5 seconds on each wheel, displays tire, pressure and temperature.
Takes special tool to remove the "valve cap" sensor for anti-theft. Outside cap can be removed for easier installation, then no tool required.
TST seems to have good tech support. Talked to them several times before I purchased the system.
Batteries are inexpensive, $2 to$4/battery and they say they'll last about a year, we'll see!
The only issue I've had so far is that I couldn't set the max pressure alarm for the Towd below 100 psi, may be operator error, will call TST when I get a chance, not a "killer" problem.
This is my initial evaluation, haven't had the system but a few days, if anything come up, positive or negative I'll update this thread.

Still pleased with the performance. Several additional comments:
The temperatures are not accurate. Pressure increases don't compute with read temperature. Temperatures are not the same initially from tire to tire.
They advertise +/- 1.5 psi, probably more like +/- 3 or 4 psi. Used a calibrated gauge set the pressures and read. Even if the gauge wasn't accurate the delta between the tires was over the 1.5 psi. Usually sensors are specified wrt a full scale reading and the linearity is specified. Pressures more accurate at around 100 psi.
All in all these issues are not a problem for me, looking for tire problems.
Removed a tire sensor, simulating a fast loss in pressure and the alarm sounded immediately (good thing)!
Bought the repeater for the car, haven't hooked it up, car sensors work fine without it.

On my smart tire system, 8 high pressure, 4 , low pressure, I have one sensor each that read just a hare over 1 lb. low. That's close enough for me. And according to a friend of mines infa red temp gun the temps are all with in 2 degrees of indicated. Wish my dash temp for the engine and transmission were that close. Heck even the speedometer is off a couple of miles per hour according to the GPS. But, how accurate is that. I am use to working with equipment that is typically 0.0002 % accurate. A little difference like a ten thousand times more accurate than my Smart Tire. And even then we are are always trying for another magnitude of improvement.

your speedometer is correct. it's your gps that will be off from that number....a little bit of a long distance lag involved.
