Window treatment and carpet

Dave and Karen:

I've had one of the window surrounds on my 99 replaced at the factory. It was a quick job and apparently they make them in their shop. They are easily removed/replaced and appears to be a job that could be done by most anyone familiar with upholstery, etc.
Mine had some bad fabric that appeared to be unraveling and I was nit-picking during the warranty.
As to the carpet, its not a difficult job except for the removal/replacement of furniture and heating ducts. Fortunately the coaches are of sufficient quality that the carpets are wall to wall, under everything with few exceptions. For instance, I have a dinette slide model. The dinettes are uncomfortable for prolonged seating such as playing cards, etc. so I removed them and replaced with upholstered side chairs, using the fabric from the cushions for the upholstery. We're much happier with the chairs.
I firmly subscribe to the philosophy that this coach is it for my lifetime (age 66) and as much as I would love to upgrade every couple of years, that's not going to happen. As a matter of fact, I won't attend rallies just to keep the temptation under control.
Therefore, I've tried to keep up with the new ones. I'm currently in the process of installing matching floor tile in the entry as in the new models. I have a long list of upgrades and additions I've done that seem to keep the urge in check.
I have friends with airplanes and boats that look and operate like new, some up to 20 years old. That's the reason I bought a Country Coach to begin with. Good quality construction etc.
When I see the new models coming out with more whistles and bells, but lower quality, I'm convinced I'll stay right here. For Instance, many new models, Allure and Inspire have gone to three-piece roofs, rather than cap to cap, one piece. That was one of the primary features on my shopping list back then.
