I have found several rv parks on Galveston Island but I wanted to check to see if anyone had first hand experience with any of them.

Thank,
Don

Don,

We just came out of Galveston, stayed at Lilly's by the Bay. It's a newer park in Hitchcock, the park is not bad but they don't take care of things very well. It does have concrete roads and pads. The pool is small but nice when it does not rain. Would like to find a better one on Galveston Island but did not see any that were any better, most were not acceptable for us. We were only there 2 rainy days when we had to head east because of the hurricane which was headed for the Carolinas.

We have stayed at Dellanera RV Park a couple of times. It is right on the Gulf and if you like that type of setting (lots of wind and sand blowing) then check it out. However, we now stay at Bayou Shores RV park. Small park on the Bay (no blowing wind and sand) with some nice spots. Don't have a site map handy but can e-mail the site #'s that are really nice. It is a well kept park and close to the Gulf. We are about 200 miles north of Galveston and go there about 3 or 4 times a year.

We've stayed at the Galveston State Park several times. It comes with wind and sand, but it RIGHT on the beach. Spots are fairly well spread apart. It is nice to walk to the beach without crossing a road or driving.
