ECM OK--bad fuse holder

Yahoo Message Number: 88471
I posted a while back that our local Cat dealer had diagnosed a bad ECM in our coach, which caused our sudden stop 3 weeks ago. When we picked up the coach last Friday, the service manager related that they had pulled the ECM, but it checked out OK on the bench. Turned out the culprit was a corroded fuse holder supplying power to the ECM. Apparently it was buried in a wiring bundle going to the ECM. For those of you that have similar year coaches--particularly if you are in a more humid area, you may consider to have this fuse holder checked. A friend of mine with same year/type coach had the same thing happen to him.

I had a similar problem that was posted a couple of weeks ago. Mine was a momentary hesitation of the engine. They found a marginal relay which is in between the ignition key and the ECM and have replaced the relay. The relay was located in the electrical box/area (in the middle of the second bay) which contain the inverters in my coach. 2001 Affinity 42' B&B # 5972. Only time will tell for sure if they fixed it.
Could you please be more specific about the location of the fuse position. I'd like to check out my fuse connections and clean them.

Thanks Den

We were in a hurry to get on the road, so I did not get under the engine to see specific location, but it had to be in the wiring going to the ECM close to the engine
