Smart Tire System

Our Allure has the Smart Tire sensors which display on the VMSpc. I finally got accurate wheel position/axle weights and have adjusted my tire pressures using Michelin's inflation/load table.
The Smart Tire sensors (most of them at least) do not read the actual tire pressures. I used a good trucker's tire gauge. For example, I now have 110 psi in the fronts and Smart tire says 127 for one and 129 for the other.
Do the Smart Tire sensors need time to adjust to the new pressures? According to the VMSpc, all the batteries in the tire pressure sensors are strong.

Either the sensors are not accurate or the gauge is not accurate.... Check the gauge against another one. Use a friends, etc and compare. It may be your gauge.

Hi Gary,

Generally after we adjust the tire pressures we wait 15 minutes to check on the VMS. Our VMS does not show changes immediately and we have not been able to figure out the exact adjustment time. So we settled on 15 minutes which seems to cover all the bases.

Kirby - The disparity between your STS readings and the manual pressure gauge seem excessive at 17 and 19 PSI. All my 8 tires agrees within several pounds. Something is wrong and I'd bet it has something to do with the manual readings. Either how they were taken, the device used, timing or a temperature difference. He's some information about tire pressures, inflations and readings.

My smart tire sensors are with in one pound of my two truck tire gauges. It might be the calibration between the silver leaf and the smart tire readouts. I have A Smart tire display for the tires. I've never used the silver leaf for read out to my computer.

I did check my gauge. Actually I have two quality trucker style tire gauges and they both agree on the pressures in the tires.

It is surprising how much difference you can see between the shady side and the sunny side of the coach. I always do my tires before the sun is up.
This might be part of the explanation.
