Rick,

I also have a 04 Inspire and had the same problem with window fogging. While in Florida for the winter I had a glass company who removed the subject window, took it apart, cleaned, resealed and then re-installed it in the coach. Cost was approximately $250-$300. The process took about three days to complete. The company also had water and electricity hook-ups for motorhomes. There are many glass companies accross the country that provide this service.

Thanks,

Jon Gullette

Hello Rick. Bummer to have the windows start the fog. This subject has many many post in the past that will give suggestions depending on what part of the country you are in, and the various possible solutions. I am in Okla and the nearest fix that I am aware of is in Dallas (take Coach leave for 6 weeks) or there is a place or two down around San Antonio.
I would advise looking up the response from members post in the past for more info.

Oh yeah Rick, another thought on the repair vs replacement is weather a repair can actually be accomplished. Sometimes when the glass is separated the gas has etched the glass to a degree that no amount of polishing will make it good. They really don't know until the glass is separated. Good luck.

We had a coupe of windows with the fogging happening too. Last spring on our way down to just north of Marco Island, we had an appointment at Lazy Days for a couple of other things, and their glass people removed, cleaned and reinstalled the two windows in a day and a half for about the same cost per window. Excellent job.

While in Oregon, I had Dave Root repair a fogged window next to the driver's seat. It took about 2 hours to do. the next day he returned and did a whole CC in one day that was there. Yes it took better than 8-10 hours to do, but he got it done. Leaving it somewhere for 6 weeks would not be my choice for work. Just so you know I have no connection to Mr Root's business in anyway, except for the one time repair. He showed up on time and did the job.

Is there a contact number for Dave Root, and location in Oregon? Have two foggy windows that would much prefer to have repaired than replaced... thank you

I have had 2 windows repaired by Dave Root and he did and excellent job,I have also purchased a repair kit offered by Dave and have repaired 2 more windows myself. The self repair is time consuming but straight forward and the results were good, 1 more window to go and I'm done. The contact number for Dave is 541-280-3612.

Fountain RV in Lakeland FL does a good job at reasonable prices. They have the machinery to reveal the windows. I had them do the driver's side and the door, Andy will go back for more as needed. I understand Dave Root in Bend Oregon also "does windows." David White

I have two that are fogged, including the driver's window. How much advance notice do they need and how long do the repairs take? We will be in DW in November and could stop by there on the way home.

The seal fails. Suncoast Designers in Hudson, FL did ours. They have hookups in their parking lot. You stay there, they come early in the am, take out the windows, tape up the openings, take the windows apart, clean them, put them back together and put them back in your rig, usually by the end of the day or at least the next day. They have a guarantee on their work. Very good customer service. Highly recommend them. Insurance may pay for any windows that are fogged and limit the driver's view.

Hi Gary, We recommend Suncoast Designers in Hudson, FL they have been fixing these windows for quite a long time. Just call and let them know when you want to come. They have Electric/water hookups and a dump station. Generally you come in the night before your appointment, they come to your coach about 6:30 AM, take out your windows and cover the holes with plastic covered cardboard (holds up to driving rain thunderstorm) long about 2-3 PM they come back with your fixed windows.
Last year they had a special with FMCA members(that they gave to everyone) that if you have your windows done in August you get 20% off. Don't know if they will repeat that this year.

So there is a procedure that can be performed without having to buy a new window?

Hi David,

Yes, we went on the "factory tour" at Suncoast. They separate the frame from the glass, the glass in machine cleaned, they put the window back together with a better seal, then reinstall in the coach.
We have had all of our windows done by Suncoast, two different trips. The first two windows were the door and driver side windows three years. Then last July we had the other 10 windows fixed. So far so good.

I have had several repaired. I was told that if you wait too long the moisture can etch the glass and then you have to have new glass but I have never heard of having to buy a new window.
