Kustom seat coiled cord

Yahoo Message Number: 89755
The driving seat on my coach have a massage feature that is controlled by a handheld remote, the coiled cord leading to the remote has split and the outer coating has started to peel off. I talked to the manufacturer and they inform me that this a common problem.
They no longer have the part as they have changed suppliers . My only choice is to replace the entire seat massage unit for $250 .
My question of the day --- Has anyone replaced or repaired their cord, if so where did you get the cord or what innovative way did you find to repair the existing cord???

Hi Terry

It happened to me too! I opened the controller, carefully cut the split ends off, pushed the wire through the strain relief and put the controller back together. So far so good! Might help to put a little silicone on the far end of the strain relief. I'll do that if it happens again. Sill in TX or have you gone north?

George,

I too was able to make the same repair on the drivers seat, but the passenger seat is split in the middle of the cord. If it wasn't the first thing that I see everytime I enter the coach it wouldn't bother me. I am looking for a site to buy coiled cord from.
I'm still way south in the Texas heat, at least I'm on the coast where there's a breeze.

Thanks for your input
