Hello all this may create a large response we have our second (number one passed 3 years ago)shih Tzu Cody (one)is 3 years old we are thinking of getting him a roommate it would be a shih Tzu, The question what are the pro and cons of 2 of these little guys. We spend about 4-6 months in the coach. Thanks in advance

We got Pepper, our mini schnauzer, as a pup a few months after we bought our coach. She is a very well traveled dog, has been to the North Pole and to Florida, all in the coach (North Pole was the towed). While in Florida three years ago, we found Snickers (a maltese/yorkie mix) and added her to our family at 9 weeks. Both girls travel well and like their coach. They go most places with us, but when we leave them in the coach we have a banner that we place on the door to inform people they are in the coach and have the gen set to come on if the power fails and the coach gets warm. Even though we still have the sticks and bricks homes, I think the fur kids prefer the coach and the adventure of new places and new scents to discover on the way. We have noticed that the addition of Snickers has been good for Pepper when she stays to "guard" the coach.

We have had two dogs at the same time since before we started motorhoming. Our first two "motorhoming" dogs were close in age, and they got along well--one Poodle and one American Eskimo (Spitz). The poodle died unexpectedly at 8 years, and we got our Bicon Frise. Being a puppy, she wanted to play, but the Spitz wasn't interested. The Bicon used to grab her tail, and pulled a lot of hair out! When we lost the Spitz, we got a Maltese-Poodle mix when the Bichon was 4 years old, and we pretty much had the same, except the Bichon was on the receiving end of the "abuse". Now, 7 years later, they get along OK, but they are not as close as the Spitz and the Poodle was. Sometimes there is an issue with the age difference. But as far as having two dogs in the coach, it is not a problem--we enjoy them both.
