CareFree Door Awning

Yahoo Message Number: 90588
I have a 2009 Veranda 300 with a CareFree Door Awning. Driving down the interstate the rear plastic cap blew off which I didn't discover until the next rest stop. Called CareFree and they stopped making my door awning in 2008 so i probably got one of the last ones. The real kicker is CareFree doesn't support it's products so they have NO replacement caps. I have called several repair shops and I am now going to start calling salvage yards but I was wondering if anyone out there might know where I might get a rear cap for my door awning. Thanks,

Al, yes Carefree are a good company in many respects and I have found their customer support people helpful, especially Kimberley, however I fell foul of this non support of discontinued products when my patio awning was damaged and had to buy a new one complete!! Appalling in my opinion. Might be worth just pressing a bit more, ask for Kimberley and see if she can source one. The other pain is that you go to them with the issue, they sort a solution but you then have to go to a dealer. He does not stock the bits so goes to carefree, they ship to you direct, however you pay the dealer. So you are raped by the dealer for a margin that he has not earned by skill, knowledge or stock holding! Michael

They no longer carry the arms for the main awing either. We were in Pensacola last summer and the wind kicked up and bent the arms on ours. So we had to replace the whole awing. We ended up with holes in our coach that had to be fixed. Not only are the arms 6 inches shorter the awing is 12 inches shorter also.. Mike Allure 470 #31713Sent from Yahoo! Mail for iPad From:

I wondered about the awnings on my coach. They have gold anodized aluminum hardware and I'd really like to add an awning over the toilet room window. I suspect I would be out of luck matching the existing hardware if they have discontinued the stuff. In those cases where you had to replace the entire awning due to damage, were they able to at least match your existing hardware color/s?Gary'07 Allure 470 #31578 From: Debbie Maniaci To: "Country-Coach-Owners@yahoogroups.com" Sent: Saturday, August 17, 2013 7:30 AM Subject: RE: [Country-Coach-Owners] Re: CareFree Door Awning

Yes they did, our hardware is black. The old one was a lot better. We added an awing over our bathroom window ourselves it makes a big difference.

No the only colors they do now are black or silver!! I got my paint shop to paint the whole lot including the topper shields in a coach color.

Can anodized aluminum be properly painted? I'm OK for now but plan for this to be our last coach and I suspect at some time I will need to replace the patio awning.....or at least replace the fabric.

Yes, it can be painted if properly prepared. Any good paint shop will know how to do this and color match as desired.
