Water tank

While resolving some issues in my plumbing bay I noticed that the water tank has a bulge in it. Now I do not recall taking any notice before now so cannot say if it is a recent occurrence or has always been so. Is your water tank wall perpendicular or bulging? I'd hate to have to replace it!!!
