Golf Cart Battery Specific Gravity

For those of you who use 6v flooded golf cart batteries (Trojans for example) and possess hydrometers, I have a question: Do you find that measured by specific gravity (not just voltage which is not as reliable a measure of SOC) that your Xantrex chargers fail to bring your batteries up to full charge after going to float? The hydrometer should read about 12.73 or so when the batteries are fully charged.
Second question: if your batteries are say about 30% discharged how long does it take to bring them to float?

A hydrometer will give you the condition of each cell, the specific gravity will tell you state of charge.
As far as how long that depends on several factors, first battery condition and its ability to "absorb" the charge. Also the rate fo charge plays a factor.
