Intec Camera

My Intec camera, CVC112 was going from bad to worse. Checked with Intec and they no longer make that model. Looked at complete systems and they are expensive $400 to $1600. Checked back with Intec to see if they had any "old inventory" and they had some CVC111's available. Bought one for $75 plus shipping. Supposed to be "cable compatible", found one pin was in a different position. Had to buy a "Molex" tool, moved the pin and it works great.

Here's what Intec told me a few months ago: Replacement options vary depending on what you'd like to accomplish, the simplest being replacing the CVC112 with our CVC110. The CVC110 has a slightly smaller field of view but plugs directly in and is dimensionally similar (a little smaller). While the CVC110 has been discontinued for several years, we do still have a number of them available on a close out special at $50 each. These are non returnable and non refundable but do carry a one year warranty should you have a problem with it. I'd need to know if your current camera is in a flush mount or simply on a bracket as well as the position of the white wire in the camera connector. It will be in position 2 or 3.
I installed a CVC110 and yes it has a smaller field, but it went right into the place of the previous camera with no problem. It only cost me $50. I talked with Ken Breegle" kbreegle@...>.

The CV111 has a slightly smaller field of vision, I can't notice. Physical size was the same, no problem installing in the original flush mount. I had to move a pin in the molex connector, not sure if the factory assembled it incorrectly or there was a different pin out. Noticed it right away and repaired, works great, paid $75 plus shipping.

I do not know what camera I have but it should be the same as yours since I have a 98 allure. My cameras picture is very poor.I can make out a object but little resolution. I don't know whether it is the camera or the tv. What were your initial indications.

More than likely it's the camera (if it's an original). Look closely at the camera lens and if it looks like it has a crusty substance on it, it's definitely the camera. I replace the CVC112 with the CVC111 for $75 and shipping. Not hard to do. Take off the cover in the rear closet. Remove 2 screws from the side of the camera. I ran a "box cutter knife around the camera and the case. Take a square piece of wood that will fit over the camera (outside) and pus the camera to dislodge. Connect up the new camera to make sure everything works, then install the new camera. I put some RTV around the outside between the camera and the enclosure. Check the connector comparing the old camera to the new, wires are color coded. One of my wires was in a different position. Not sure if it was assembled incorrectly or that camera had a different harness. If you need to move a pin, get a Molex tool, possible damage to the pin if you try to use pliers to remove.
