Subject: All Electric Coach

Does anyone out there have an all electric coach,I'm looking in to trading for a 42',that is all electric. My main concern is hot water, and its power consumtion. The coach has a 10 gal water heater, heated by electric, motor aid, and the Hurricane. My hurricane currently runs through the water heater, but only warms the water up, and does not make it hot, need to use propane or electric, to get it hot. All info would be appreciated.

We have an 2001 42' Affinity with the All Electric option. We'd had it for 3 years now and after the normal (some not normal) startup problems, we are happy with the coach's performance. Our nightly routine consists of showers for both my wife and myself. Due to just normal activities, we are in the shower about 10-15 minutes after each other, so the tank doesn't have a long time to reheat the water to a very hot temp. We have never had a problem with running out of hot water. We take normal showers --- water running all the time, but we don't take real long showers either.
We use the coach about 6 months a year -- 3-summer, 3 winter. We really like the All Electric features of our coach and would order it again ----- especially the electric heat in the tile floor. On change would be to get an "instant-hot" stove versus the older style raised -- slow heating elements.
We've had few electrical problems until now. My second Heart Interface shows that I have no power (nor recharging) going into the second/lower (engine) batteries. This problem also eliminated power to some outlets including the refrig, (extension cord to another outlet temporarily fixed that one). So no I have to figure out why that inverter is not getting power.
The AGM batteries have been good, but now the auto gen start kicks in to recharge them after only eight hours of output with almost no electrical load. I've been told that after 3 years the batteries may need to be replaced --- That is disappointing to me. I watch the bat voltage carefully and never let it go below s12.2V and have even installed 2 solar panels to insure we will always have some back up if the coach is left alone for a while.

Hope this info is helpful in your decision.
