Kent - I dabbled with LEDs and wrote up my findings here: http://www.muniac.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=119#Post119 We continue to use the ones mentioned in the article with pleasing results. As time permits, I'll be exploring other areas where this illumination can be used to good effect. It's come a long way from the ice cold units previously available. Hope this helps.

Kent - Same gig here in our bus. My ceiling lights have horizontal pins making them ideal for circular LED upgrades. Other fixtures have vertical pins. At the time I didn't find anything for the vertical pin fixtures. I'm not saying they don't exist, I'm simply mentioning this product didn't cross my desk. Good luck.

I have a total of 8 vertical pin lights to replace on the wall, bathroom, and bedroom and will be replacing them with these. I think I will be going with the cool white. I already replace the 28 horizontal pins halogen 10w bulbs that run down the center.

Hi Floyd,

What LED lamp # did you use for the ceiling "Puck" fixtures ? Are you happy with them ?

Thanks - Kent

I found the cool white to be too much like a florescent in color. The original halogens were 2700K and give a warmer light. I found it interesting that these sites do not give you an option for brightness or lumens sp?.
I am not home but I believe the company I have been using is called Superbright.led. They provide a range of color and lumens ratings. For example, you can get led equivalent to 10W or 20W halogen. I replaced my ceiling lights in the living room with 3500K 15W equivalent except for over the refrigerator and sink where I put 3500K but 25W equivalent for more light in the work area.
I replaced the complete fixture in the bedroom and bath areas with new factory OEM fixtures from KaperII for about 18 dollars each.

If you have the same style ceiling lights as my 2006 then it is easier and you get better light by replacing the fixture and in my opinion looks better. KaperII sells OEM led ceiling fixture lights that fit exactly in the same hole and come with the same connector. For some reason I had to cut and reverse the wires on the plug to get the correct polarity. They are about $18 with discount for more items purchased. You get rid of the ring and glass in the original fixture.

Kent,

REFERENCE LED LIGHT CONVERSION

Well, you have most likely have a G-4 base if like mine.
First Color: 3500 is about what the ones that came with the coach were in color. I used in "comfort " areas. I used 5500 in work/reading areas. Much "whiter"?. I prefer the 5500, my wife the 3500. (5500 like a very white florescent.)
Next Brightness: Normally measured by "Lumens"?. I aimed for 200 Lumens. But finally used 2 Watts as measure. Approximate, but usually available. (My guess for the 10 Watt originals is 120 Lumens.) Lumens were not always stated in offerings.
I ordered off the internet. (e-bay) From China. In two different orders. All is chance!! About three to four dollars a bulb, delivered. One order appeared to be significantly higher quality than the other. In diameter of wire plug. Spacing of plug wires. Soldering of components. And finally strength of mounting board. As stated at first- All is chance.

There were a couple of broken ones in shipment and installation.
Make sure plug lead is to side and diameter of unit will fit into your socket, with room to spare. Too tight a fit will break things.
A thousand miles (Including I-5.) and three months of usage and all still working.

At this point very happy with them.
Still have not found a satisfactory replacement for "vertical"? bulbs on perimeter.
Your unit is obviously different from mine. We needed about 35 units. But these basics should be a start.

Good Luck,

That is what I did. I bought a variety of K ratings and Lumens and put them on the ceiling and compared. The better sites will give you Kelvin ratings and Lumens. The will often give a comparison to the incandescent wattage. For example, 10W led is not as bright as 10W Halogen, 15W led is pretty close to the 10W halogen. If you stay with the same color range (Kelvin) you can get more light by going with more lumens and it won't stand out. Mixing 3000k and 5500K will stand out and draw your attention.
