Michelin Advantage Program Question

Yahoo Message Number: 93333
I am interested in perhaps using the Michelin Advantage Program in the purchase of a new set of tires for our coach. Unfortunately some of the literature on the FMCA website is flawed and I am unable to make an intelligent decision when pricing the tires. Can anyone tell me if the Michelin "Sample of Prices" (as shown on the FMCA website) Net Invoice Price includes or excludes the FET. For example using the 295/80R22.5 tire as an example, would the Michelin Advantage Program drive out price for the tire only be $638.53 or $638.53 plus FET of $40.92 or $679.45? I know the prices shown as a sample are crazy as proven when getting dealers' prices, but for one dealer if you have to add the FET to the "Net Invoice Price", then there won't be much if any saving by using the program. Does anyone that has experience with this program know? If you recently purchased a set of 295/80R22.5 XZA2 Energy tires, what was your cost per tire as invoiced by Michelin. Thank you! We purchased 315's through the program in August. The price would be 638.53 plus 40.92.

Hello

I used the program and it was a discount. I contacted Margaret Keen at, mkeen@... , and had her quote the cost. Please note the different cost for load ranges. The price was for tires and fet. their prices did not include mounting or balancing. Overall it went very smoothly.

That's what so great about dealing with Les Schwab in Junction city. The price is all inclusive, dismounting, mounting, replacing stem o-rings, balancing, federal tax, and no state sales tax. And they guarantee the tires even if Michelin won't which happened in my case. Oh and if you need new Smart tire transmitters they have them, too.

I had a set (6) 295/80R22.5 XZA2 Energy tires installed 9mo ago in Portland at Superior Tire Service at a cost of $679.45 each inc tax ($4076.70) plus a cost $260.00 for dismount and mount reconditioned valve stems have the front tires balanced. All you have to do is give FMCA your credit card info then the dealer will do the rest, but it must be a dealer in there system.
I went to Les schwab in my town where I have be dealing with for years and they want almost $175 more per tire and $200 more for Good Years.
Hope this helps

I just registered my credit card to get my tires. I am running 4 mich 2009 date and 4 Goodyear 2007 date. All look to be in great shape. Should I replace just because the year code? Any thoughts on trying to get smartire sensors? I hate to wait a couple of weeks to get it reprogrammed. Like the system all but 2 sensors are out .

It depends on whether you have a gen 1 or gen 2 Smartire. If gen 1, then the way I understand it there or no gen 1 sensors available anymore and the gen 2 sensors are not compatible with the gen 1 system. If you're lucky, You might find a retailer somewhere with some old gen 1 sensors laying around on the shelf.
