Motor RPM Issue

Have an issue that's been present for a number of years, very intermittent. After coming to a stop and then accelerating the engine wouldn't go over about 1500 rpm and not shift past 2nd gear. I would pull over and stop, shift into neutral then drive and take off normally. This problem would not reoccur for months at a time. While in Tucson this time it happened several times at fairly close intervals. I assumed it was a transmission problem. At my last service I had the transmission checked and talked to the tech, he said the tranny was fine but noticed while checking the clutches that when he put the service brake on, he couldn't get more than 30% power from the motor but the power would jump when the brake was released. I called King Controls and the tech said this was normal, that the electronic throttle has a service brake input that inhibits the motor to 30% power when the service brake is depressed. He said that he's seen this problem in the past and it's been the brake light switch. I called Kevin Waite and he gave me a part number for that part. (Good ol Kev!!). Pulled the schematic and found the location, turns out there are actually 2 brake light switches and they are kinda wired in parallel so it's not very straight forward to isolate the problem. Also I wondering if there could be some residual air pressure in the brake line to keep one or both of the switches on. BTW I verified this by the last time this happened I didn't pull over but hit the brake several times (briskly) and the problem was resolved.

I've planned a way to isolate the problem and several solutions including replacing the switches. Will comment further after I proceed and determine a course of action. Thought this may be of interest, possibly others have experienced this issue.
