My wife and I are planning a trip this June and July leaving Tn. going to Little Rock, Oklahoma City, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Sedona, Las Vegas, Zion Nat. Park, Bryce Canyon, Page, Az. Would like any input on where a 45ft coach can stay, and any suggestions on eating and sightseeing.

Oklahoma City has a lovely RV park on NW side of the city called a Twin Fountains RV Park. There is a tremendous museum very near there called National Cowboy Museum.

Hey there Tommy & Melanie. Sounds like a trip of all trips, and coming down I-40 i presume.
The Pala Duro Canyon West of Amarillo is a nice place to camp and not that far off of i-40. A really nice break off the road. There used to be a service that would deliver in cornbread and beans for anyone not wanting to cook. Nice. Also West of Amarillo is Cadillac Ranch where all the old Cads are buried nose down, sticking up like some kind of monument to Detroit. It will be on your side of i-40 right on the Hwy.

Ruby's Inn RV park is just outside the entrance to Bryce Canyon park. They have spaces that will accommodate your rig. It is not fancy but fine for using as a base for visiting the park.

We second Twin falls in OKC. Zoo is nearby, easy on off freeway access and despite being next to freeway was pretty quiet through the night.

Do you belong to TT they have park in Vegas and near Sedona?

if just overnight in Vegas Sam's out on boulder hwy is pretty reasonable no frills.

We are very flexable we will be in each location for a few days so having hookups would be nice but we don,t mind doing a little dry camping. We like National Parks and State Parks, but have found them a little lacking for spots for a 45ft. rv. Have been to Santa Fe and Ok city we are fimilar with the parks in those locations have a place in Little Rock.

Does Sedona have any RV parks that one can get to with a 40-45 foot long motor coach? We were in Cottonwood which I think is south of Sedona, and the signs on the highway to Sedona from Cottonwood said that our sized vehicle could not get to Sedona that way. We didn't check if we could get there from the north and perhaps we could have. Thank you.

I rode a tour bus thur there several years ago so I would think a rv should be able to go there.

Ditto on Twin Fountains in Oklahoma City. Instead of Little Rock, Hot Springs is nice. We like Catherine's Landing RV Resort in Hot Springs or Lake Catherine State Park. Oasis RV Park in Amarillo. Sante Fe RV parks are dusty. Be prepared. Sante Fe Skies RV Park gets the best reviews. The KOA is near town but more pricey. We liked American RV Park in Albuquerque but again crowded and dusty.

We have a place to stay in Little Rock we stay at Twin Fountains in Ok. City we will probaly stay in Los Seunos (?sp) in Santa Fe after that it will all be new territory. We will be in Albuqurque 1 night Sedona 2nights Las Vegas 2 nights Zion 2 nights Bryce 2 nights Page 4-5 nights those times are tenative might try to make Moab also.

Recommend that you get the current edition of Big Rigs Best Bets. The authors have personally visited every park or resort listed. The book also contains listings of fuel stops accessible to big rigs, and restaurant recommendations.

It has been a few years since we made the Zion/Bryce/Moab trip, but we stayed in Panguitch and took the car to Zion, Bryce and also over to Capitol Reef. We then moved the coach to Moab and went through Arches. Good trip. You might check the KOA in Panguitch.

We stayed at the thousand trails in Cottonwood with our 43, no problem. it was a good point to visit the entire surrounding area and low priced. Better than average TT site but sites take some effort at leveling 6400 Thousand Trails Rd. Sp#16 Cottonwood, AZ 86326 928-634-8158

We always camp out at Dead Horse Ranch State Park in Cottonwood. Plenty of space for big rigs at a reasonable price. We have two dogs who enjoy the open space. There are not a lot of fancy amenities but the paved pull-thru spaces are very large. Sedona is a twenty mile drive from Cottonwood. Ponds are stocked with fish, hiking trails, etc. This park is easy to get to. Turn on 10th street and go right to it.

In Santa Fe I would stay at Trailer Ranch RV Resort. It is close to town, a Senior park, Nice people, concrete pads and paved roads. We have stayed there many times and love the location.

We've enjoyed staying at Rancho Sedona a few times now. Both with our T28 Bounder, and our first trip out in our Allure. Smaller park, down by the creek, and in the mix of Sedona. Nice people!

The drive in, with the European roundabouts, can be fun!
We also like to take the old dirt stage coach road just outside of the RV Park, up the back ways to I17. Not real rough, and a nice scenic drive.
