Temp's in the 20 or Ten's

Yahoo Message Number: 93680
I would like to bring my coach home for one night.
The Temp here at night should be in the 20's or teen's. If I leave the Hydro hot on for the night, should it be able to take care of those temp's for one night? or also put a light bulb in the water area? Do I need to worry about the water to the ice maker? Thanks for any info from you that have been in this type of weather over night.

Put the Hydro-Hot on electric and set one gas heating zone to 60 or so. If your really worried about the ice maker, put a sized section of insulation batting in the exterior opening. The cover ought to fit back on. You should be good to go.

Hi Dave, Yes I would be concerned about the electric icemaker water valve just inside the fridge opening at the side of the coach. Even though ours had insulating foil wrapped over it, it froze 4 days ago in 23 degree temps at the Marfa Lights viewing area. The ice split the valve's plastic body and didn't start to leak until the next day when it thawed out while driving through El Paso. You should have a petcock ahead of it to shut off and then drain the ice maker water.....Hope this helps....Skip 2002 Intrigue #11329

May suggest you exercise that shut off valve monthly, because the day you need it it will be stiff and the handle will sheer off. Then you'll need a small pair of vice grips and.. Good luck.
