Intrigue vs. Magna

Yahoo Message Number: 94287
I'd appreciate anyone's insight on this. While I'm sure initially there was a lot of distinction between the Intrigue and the Magna, I'm looking at a 2008 Magna Rembrandt and a 2009 Intrigue Jamboree and not seeing much difference at all, physically. The engines are the only difference (500hp vs 600hp) that I'm seeing.

Is there something different in the suspension, wiring, etc? I would love any insight!

I suggest that you go to Damon Rapozo's site and take a look at his description of the model progressions. On eof the biggest differences is that the Magna and Affinity have over the road A/C with an air handler and evaporator in the bedroom. Here is a link to Damon's site. http://www.damonrapozo.com/model_history/

You'll find the front end of the Magna is rated higher, as is the Tag Axle. Later Intrigues have the same front end. There are lot more Bells and whistles on a Magna. You need to check Damon Rapozo's web site about CC specs, its very revealing. Check the doors in the bath room for the posted carrying capacity of each individual coach. In 08/09 Magna and Intrigues were built in the same plant. Personally I would pick the 08 Magna, as production was still cooking along. If the coach was built in 07 it won't have all the emission issues. 6914 was the first Magna that required the ULSD fuel. I had planned on Buying a new Magna in 2011, but we know what had happened by then. I'm glad I didn't. I would have had to keep working.

Hi Mark

We bought an 08 pre-emission magna about 4 months ago. I had driveway issues and felt the magna provided more rear clearance so that directed me more to the magna. I know another guy who bought the 08 intrigue and they thought the intrigue had more interior storage. I am sure our new magna has less interior storage then our 05 inspire. The magna has a different roofline with awnings. I have brochures and sales info on both if you want to email me I can send you what I have. We are extremely happy with the magna. The power is equivalent to driving a regular vehicle on the freeway and the disk brakes and jakes make stopping very confident.

Rod,

I'd really love to receive brochures and sales info on both (MarkSperos@...). I've been a fan of Damon's site for some time, but while it lists the improvements of each model from year to year, there's nothing that compares between the models I've found.

One thing I just figured out from close examination of the pictures is that the Intrigue doesn't seem to include windows at all in the salon on the short pop out portion of the walls, while Magna include at least one per pop out on the kitchen and two at the dining/couch.
It's things like this I'm trying to figure out.

Thanks for your continued help!
Mark

Mark, Our Intrigue indeed has windows on slide ends. Intrigues also have cabinets in front slide(s) the entire length whereas Magnas do not unless ordered otherwise. Our Intrigue (late) has the 18k front suspension found on Magnas until they used the 20k version & 365 front tires. BTW, I installed 365 fronts on our Intrigue with no problem & better handling/ride. Magnas tend to have all electric & more glitz. Biggest difference is the larger powerplants....a 600 or 650 HP ISX beats anything offered in Intrigues!Coriwelsh12314 IntrigueSent from Yahoo Mail for iPhone From:

I can't speak for the later years that you were looking at. but in the early 2000's the Magnas and the affinities have a completely different front suspension than the lower models made by a different manufacturer. these are far less problematic than the others. could be the rear suspension iad well I'm not sure of that. Suggestion anyone with a brochure please put it in the files section as then it will be available to all of us at anytime. Helps a lot for those of us looking for our first CC and I assume would be almost as helpful to a current CC owner that was moving to newer or different model in the CC lineup.

Good idea. I put the items in the files section. I also have the operators manual but it consist of many pages of pdfs and I don't know how to upload in a group. It would tough if each file was random.
