Surge protector dropping

A quick question does anyone have any hassle with your surge protector kicking off line occasionaly? It suggests that there is some spike or momentary open neutral or reversed polarity, its happened about 3-4 times in the last few days, depending on what the coach demand is it sometimes causes the main AC breaker to throw, otherwise it just comes back up in the usual 2 minutes 16 seconds or what ever. I am reasonably confident it is not the unit, or anything on the coach, she has been on shore power for months without issue. I thought it might have been the caravan next door but he was out on the last occassion. What sort of things could cause this?

I have been having the same problems with my surge guard 40250 switch/surge guard. I just purchased a new one and will install it soon. An exspenive solution- if it works John

You might want to check all the screws on the ground bar buss inside your AC panel. I had reason to be inside my panel and found a number of loose screws causing a poor connection. Disconnect the power before doing this just to be on the safe side.

I would be concerned about the neutral connection at the terminal where you are connected. I've had issues 3 times in 26 years. Once in the airstream and one each in the Allure and Intrigue. The causes were all bad neutrals!

Another possibility is the electrical power cord reel, although it maybe remote in this case. To test, plug in power cord, power on, rotate reel, if surge protector powers on and off, it is the problem.
Did you ever fix the entry door noise problem, if so what was your solution?

Thanks for all the responses, I will check all the connections to be sure, but I do suspect some outside issue. I have downloaded the spec on the unit, TRC 34560, and note that it has a cut out at low and high volts too. Now the site I am on here in Spain has been full for Easter so I am wondering about voltage drop. The unit in theory drops out at 102 volts. In my boat I have an AC volt and amp meter on the shore power and used to regularly see volts below 200 which is transformed to only 100 in coach terms. (We have 230 volt here in Europe and on US RVs there is a conversion process on import which uses transformers to drop to 120 but don't let that confuse matters). So one thing I intend to do is measure the voltage on the post at a busy time and see how close it is. AND I will get a remote for the surge protector to report historical drops and reasons and also install a Volt meter on the shore input line!!
John, re the squeak on the door, in answer to your question, sort of. I managed to move the latch bolt to tighten the hold but that makes closing the door a real effort and I cannot see that as being good in the long term. I tried tape, but that soon fails, tried tougher tape that just takes slightly longer to fail. All in all I do not have a definitive solution.
