We will be heading from Southern GA to New Orleans for the Jazzfest, and Breaux Bridge for the Crawfish fest. Has anyone stayed at any of the casinos along I 10. Possibly Biloxi, Gulfport area? We are looking for a midway stop. Final stop will be the N.O.West KOA for a few days. Any critique on the KOA? Thanks

We've stayed at the Casino at Bay St. Louis which was pretty good. Bay St. Louis is a really wonderful town which has recovered from Katrina. On the intersection of the main street in BSL and the highway which goes along the Gulf, there's a restaurant with delicious food. There are also lots of art galleries near that intersection. I'm sorry I don't remember the name of the casino there. Good campground.

Tom,

None of the casinos in Biloxi/Gulfport have RV spots attached. The Hollywood in Bay st Louis does have a fairly nice spot but it about 15 miles from I-10. The KOA is acceptable for the N.O. area. (We live 5 miles from KOA) The nice one but pricey is French Quarter Rv.

In Biloxi, Majestic Oaks RV Resort is nice but sites are close together and short. Good location to Biloxi casinos.
Hollywood Casino at Bay St Louis has a nice RV park.
Island View Casino in Gulfport has a parking lot across the street where some RV's park. It's crowded on the weekend. A new park in Gulfport is Gulf Haven campground. Basically a gravel parking lot with hookups but right across the street from the beach and about 2 blocks from Island View Casino. (my favorite best comps) Silver Slipper in Bay St Louis has an RV park across the street from the beach but it's way off the beaten path. If you want peace and quiet, it's a good choice but not close to anything.
We stayed at the KOA West. It was "OK" you can read some reviews on www.rvparkreviews.com Pontchartrain Landing is a bit better in my opinion. They have a shuttle to the French Quarter.
We liked Bayou Segnette State Park (water and electric) and friends of ours stayed at Fountainbleu State Park across Lake Pontchartrain and said it was nice.
Another casino RV park we like in Louisiana is Coushatta in Kinder LA. Very nice RV park that they will comp when you leave if you have a players card and play some while you're there.

We stayed at Parkers Landing RV Park, right off I-10 in Biloxi. Can't remember the exit. Good electric and water, and pretty quiet. Not much freeway noise. It is a little drive to the casinos, but not that bad. Camping fees were reasonable.

Almost all of the Casinos in Biloxi have FREE overnight RV parking. The IP (Imperial Palace) is the easiest access to freeways. From I-10 take the I-110 south. You will see the IP after the drawbridge and take exit at end of bridge and turn left. Big lots with plenty of parking. When you are settled, take a stroll down the Blvd to the Beau Rivage casino or walk through downtown Biloxi see the town green and get dinner at one of the many restrauants like the famous Mary Mahoney's http://www.marymahoneys.com/ . You may get panhandled but usually politely.

Have a nice trip, Tim

Thanks to all who responded to my questions on casino parking. We ended up at the Silver Slipper in Bay St. Louis. Over night camping is 32.00 per night. Full service with ocean view. Not bad compared to some of the places we have been. When we got inside to get our players card they comped us the overnight stay. That and the 12.00 buffet, we are happy campers. On to N.O.
