08 Affinity High/Low beam switch

My high/low beam switch has failed. High beam works, low beam does not. At the cable harness plug, 12 voltage present in high beam wire, not in low beam. Bypassed the switch by jumping the plug 12 volt to the low beam wire and low beams come on. So the switch on the column seems to be bad (or loose wire at the switch) . Looks like the only way to get to the switch, is to pull the smart wheel.
Has anyone done this and if so, any help on how to do it and electronic/pdf manuals with information, would be very helpful.

You do not have to pull the smart wheel. I have changed this switch, got mine from Kevin Waite. I split the plastic collar and released them, a bit fiddly but can be done, Replacing the switch is easy after that.

What I need to do is get the turn signal/high-low switches off of the colume . Hope to try getting the boot off today, then remove the switch for testing and/or replacing.

I don't need to remove the wheel :-).
