Front sway bar bushings/brackets

I've read several posts related to the Holland-Neway sway bar brackets breaking and taking out the front ride height adjuster. My bushings must be pretty hard since they creak and groan unless I keep them sprayed with RuGlyde. Before we head out soon for a 3 month trip, I am thinking of being proactive and replacing the brackets. Is this a DIY job? I know I can get the parts from Kevin Waite.

It looks as simple as R/R two bolts but is there tension on that bar that I need to deal with or do I need to support the weight of the bar as the bracket/s are removed.

Gary do not know if yours is the same as my 04 Intrigue but mine broke. It did not damage anything else. Kevin sent new ones and I replaced without problem. As you start to loosen the bolts you will be able to see if their is any tension.

Gary, One of my brackets broke. Kevin sent me new brackets and bushings. Its a very simple 30 minute job. Just do one side at a time and you should not have any problems. Mine had very little downward tension.
You might want to consider replacing your end link bushings as well. Mine were shot. I had oversized urethane bushings made from Energy Suspension. Welcome to Energy Suspension X-Treme Duty Products

How much bigger were the oversize bushings? did they fit into the regular size bracket? Thanks

Dave,

I was referring to the end link bushings not the sway bar mounding bushings. RJ 2005 Inspire #51264
