Getting ready to rumble

Yahoo Message Number: 95513

We are going to Chula Vista in June. It will be Carole's first time on the road since her surgeries. I am ready, and so is she. Do you know how to get the head light out of the CC Allure 2006. It seems to be glued in the a black material. I cannot find any screws or bolts etc. Thought I would call CC but hope you know.

Stan I got a package from you a few years back and we have used it many times. I will email you when I am down there and maybe we can meet up for a beer, or wine.

If it the same as my magna the headlight was set in polyurethane. I replaced one a few months back. I just cut it out from the back using a utility knife then held the new one in with masking tape. I then re-caulked with black polyurethane. I did have a gen slide out so access was good. All word done from the back Rod

Thanks I am on it. I will use tape that was my last issue, how to hold it in while sealer dried.

Did you have any problems aiming you headlights. On my Magna there is no way to adjust the headlights. On my last coach, an Allure which uses the say headlight I could adjust the headlights. On this coach the right light beam is high and to the right with no adjustment.
Thank you Steve

There are two 5mm hex adjustments that do both axis. They can be seen in the photo I posted. Perhaps your light is different.

I know about the adjustment screws having adjusted the same lights on my old coach, but on this coach the lights will not adjust down far enough. So my question is when you installed your new lights how were you able to set them in the correct postion so they would be pointing in the right direction. Also I would think that your lights are the same as mine, 08 Magna (98-2000 Navigator) Steve

before I removed the light I measured the height to the center of the light beam from the ground. I then double checked the new one before setting. I also used the bubble level in the light. I taped the light in place where I wanted it then ran the polyurethane. The only problem was that I had just the passenger light that was dull but after replacing it makes the drivers light look dull by comparison .

Yes I found the hex nuts and they adjust left or right. It seems that up and down are in the way the light is put in. I can see the old unit has some plastic ground away which would allow the light to point down more. I test it at night and the new light is off, but I am not sure how much it matters.

I finally found the photo that you refer too. Not used to this new Yahoo group format. I have only one adjustment on left as you look at picture. What I noticed now on closer examination and a review of photo that CC ground the plastic ridge line away on the narrow side so that the light will advance in further and bring the lens up. I am off to due the same thing. Thanks for your help, and I still have not master the Yahoo changes but these guys are going to make money now, there seems to be a add every time I turn a page.
