Seat belt

I have a 2004 Allure with a "Hoemestyle" Passenger seat. The seat belt is attached to the seat and retracts into the seat back. The seat belt is stuck at full extension and will not retract into the seat back. Homestyle is out of business.
Does anyone know if parts are available for the seat belt and how to access the retracting mechanism without removing the upolstery. The seat belt buckle indicates it is a GM product.

Not long after purchasing our new 2004 Allure the driver's belt started to stick when extending it in various spots. Most of the time it would stick too short to be able to buckle up. It was the opposite problem of yours but the bad news is there is no way to remove/replace the seat belt mechanism in the 'Homestyle' seat short of removing the upholstery. We were under warranty and Homestyle replaced the whole seat as the most practical way to solve the problem. The bad news is that you may be faced with replacing the seat with another manufacturer's product unless someone has come up with a solution since we had the problem.

We had the same problem last year, Harry Lockwood in roseville calif took the seat completely apart. Order from I don't know where a complete seat belt mechanism which was about $110 if I remember correctly and replace it, then put the cover back on the seat and remounted the seat. Couple hours labor. Harry was a former cc employee. He works out of his truck now 916-233-7253....

There are two sources I would contact:

Steve at Countryside Interiors in Junction City, OR

Vila International in Southern CA, I believe they purchased Homestyle.
