Replacing Origional TV's

Yahoo Message Number: 96338
I'm trying to find out is anybody knows what TV's will drop right into my cabinets without a rebuild. I currently have a 37in. Sharp HD in front & a 32in. Panasonic in bedroom that is analog. I thought I heard someone say a 40in Samsung drops right in front & I'm not sure about the back. I would like to max. size & quality on both systems in H.D. Anybody got some Idea's would like to here them. I have the Jamo surround sound, my Jamo took a dump but the sound system is still good.
Thanks for any help?

Measure your spots then go to any store and look, the measurements are on the boxes.

Yep you definitely want to go by measurements. The new TV's have such tiny borders you can get a lot more screen size in a given space. I had a Sony 40 over the dash in our Inspire and it fit perfectly but had wider borders than current models. I measured the available space in our new Bus and replaced a 32" Panasonic with a 39" Panasonic which has about a 3/4" frame around and fit perfectly... no cabinet mods needed. I added a Yamaha RX-V377BL HT system and a powered sub woofer. The sound is awesome.

I had a 40" Samsung installed at CC in Junction City 2 years ago. Most of the 40" would fit width wise but to tall for the current cabinet. I found this Samsung that fit UN40EH6000 - 40" LED 1080P 120HZ HDTV .

I found this at Best Buy and also @ Sears. I paid $749.00. I had CC install spacers at the edges, however, the height just fit.

OMC installed a 46 in Samsung LED in our 2006 Allure. It required no modification to the base cabinetry but they made a new face frame to trim it out. They convinced me to go with the 46 and I am glad they did as it is not overwhelming but makes for great football games.

I'm looking at the 40 Sony at Costco , dumping the jacked up Jamo and going with Sony Blu Ray player and a Sony AV receiver.
Also, Sony in the Bedroom on hinges - lots of storage that is wasted with the factory tv.
Sticking with the brand helps with programming.

Look at the Yamaha S600, smaller footprint. Also, installed PS/3, its all racked mounted.

Other thing is pay attention to screen size vs overall size. When buying a new TV for front of our Dolphin found big differences

Does anyone know how the original bose bass box was mounted under the kitchen counter top. I see the the AC plug, and the bose cord. But no Brackets. I guess I could make something. I just do not want the thing knocking around while driving.

I never liked the Bose 123 for a number of reasons. No conventional tone controls was one big gripe.

Another was hearing the low midrange arriving from the woofer box before the sound of the upper

midrange and highs of the satellites. That was very disorienting for me.
So I junked the whole thing,

installed a NAD combo receiver/CD/DVD player and a M&K powered sub up front with 5 M&K satellite

speakers. Its not my system at home, but it is half way realistic and the Sub woofer is a true subwoofer

starting at 80 hz, so I;m not bothered by arrival times which can be adjusted.

We wanted full length pull out drawers so Davis cabinets pulled out the Bose woofer and there were

only two small L brackets securing it to the coach. With the Bose gone we now have full length pull out

drawers and added pull out shelves to so we don't have to get down on our knees for access. We also

added shelves under the cook top, access doors for the area behind the pull outs of the dinette to hide

the cases of wine we buy in California.

Good luck hope it works for you. TWI 2004 Intrigue Ovation. 11731

Well, Where the bose sits in my coach, You cant use it for anything els. It is right in the corner of the L. But I just spent $400 smackers, and about 6 hours of belly rubbing and just got it all back. Waiting on wall brackets. I just got the 5 digital splitter. So I have Satlte tv / Ant / Outside Cable Or Bose DVD / That I can switch from front Front TV to back TV, and basement has TV Hook up for outside. Love the system I am hooking up.. Hope bose sounds ok for me..

I will take some tomorrow. I did all the work myself. Works great.... I can put a dvd in the bose, and watch in living room, if wife gets tired and want to go to bed, she can watch the bose from in the bedroom as well, or watch satelite, or ant, or cable
