exhaust brake - thanks

For everyone that helped me find and utilize the exhaust brake on my Intrigue - a great big thanks! Now I understand how it works on low/high/off. I also spent time using the brakes since they likely need the built up crude scraped off the pads. So, here is what I did today over about 100 miles of country/city driving. No exhaust brake on the highway - did not want that to slow me down when coasting. In city areas where the traffic was light - brakes only. I have had the brakes checked so I know they are in good shape at least visually. What I do not know is if I should do anything to them before heading to Washington/Oregon in a couple of months. I am sure they are the original ones and the pads are 10 years old.

The switch may show a brake handle and the display on the dash may say exhaust brake, but you have

an engine brake a Jake brake . Its a totally different animal. Its much more efficient than an exhaust

brake believe me I have had both. Heading west on Wolf Creek Pass proved that to me numerous

times. TWI 98 Allure 30255 with exhaust brake, 04 Intrigue with Jake brake. 11731

I have a 14 year old CC Intrigue with 93,000 miles and I have never had any work done on the brakes, they are still doing their job. Know others with higher mileage who have also not had any work done and theirs are working fine also. Wouldn't hurt to have them checked and the roller lubed.
