Pulling Inverter Electrical Question

I will have to send my Xantrex in for a minor repair in a few weeks. It will take a week or so. I will have to be using the coach plugged into shore power during that period. I have never been in this situation before. Will I have to tie the negative and positive battery leads I remove from the inverter together in order to have 12V to the coach? I know I will have to use the generator to keep the batteries charged.

Cables separated for sure and I believe you will require a separate battery charger. The generator charges the batteries through the inverter.
The only non inverter path I know of is the engine alternator.

R & C are correct. Separate and insulate the leads to the inverter. Then put a battery charger on your batteries. Judy n Joe98 Intrigue 10578

so, with the battery cables disconnected from the inverter separated insulated I will still have 12 volt power to everything in the coach? I thought the battery current flowed through the inverter. Rich 2002 Magna

No but ac does so anything that is powered off the inverter will not have power. When on shore or gen set the inverter works in bypass mode using an internal transfer switch.
