DC Ground Connections

Yahoo Message Number: 98188
Good morning again Campers,

I have an open ground on the front bank of rocker switches (driver's side console) which prevents the Battery Boost switch from functioning (along with the lighting in the switches). I jumped to a known good ground to confirm the diagnosis.

I could just create a new ground to fix the problem but I'd like to track the problem to its source.

Question: what is the Country Coach protocol for grounding the wire bundles in the front of the coach (i.e. the location of the grounding point(s)? Are they grounded in the front of the coach, or do the ground wires run the length of the coach to the grounding points near the engine? I don't see any obvious points in the front left bay, and I'd prefer not to start removing basement overhead panels in my search. Call me lazy.

Any advice would be very much appreciated!

Jay,

I believe your grounding block is located behind the small overhead cabinet above the drivers seat.
I also have a 2005 Inspire and that is where mine is. It's pretty easy to get to as the panels lining the cabinet interior are just screwed in.
Good Luck,
RJ

Thanks RJ,

I had seen (and subsequently forgotten) that grounding block during the upgrade of the front TV and the MCD shades. However, before I could reexamine it, I found the major grounding block for the lower wire bundles in the house battery/inverter bay, and I'm betting that's where I'll find my problem. There could be many gremlins living there!
