Fuel supply hose to Hurricne hydronic heater problem...

Yahoo Message Number: 98307
I'm brand new to this group...looks great!...I have a 2001 Country Coach Galley Open Intrigue #11316. My Hurricane hydronic heater was not getting fuel. I disconnected the fuel supply hose and ran a hose from a can of diesel up to the heater intake. It works fine. Problem...How to I replace the supply hose. Country Coach said I could gain access to the fuel tank behind the propane tank and there would be room to work. Not so in my case...the support frame is in the way. I thought about removing the ceiling of the first compartment next to the propane tank or cutting a hole(s) in the back to see if I could gain access. Any one that has experience with replacing the hose from the diesel tank to the heater would be welcome.

Jim Gautier.

Jim, I replaced both the Supply & Return Hoses to my Hurricane in my 2003 Allure 1st Ave. #30898 and had to have coach put on a lift and lower the Fuel Tank for access. Expensive process, I've read on our web that someone did cut a hole in their floor to access to the Hydronic, Engine & Generator Hoses at tank.

Thanks, Mike 03 Allure 1st Ave. #30898

I am the one that cut a hole in the floor to replace the fuel line to the heater. Later I used the same hole to replace the line to the generator.
Then later I used the same hole to replace the fuel sending unit to the dash fuel gauge.
Pulled the carpet back and drilled a 6"? hole with a hole saw . Just go slow so you do not damage wires below. There is about 6 to 8"? between bottom of the floor and top of the tank.
Was about a two hr job for the first fuel line.

On my Allure there are two access panels on the forward wall of the first basement compartment behind the front wheels. I removed the panel on the driver's side and could see lines attached to the top of the tank and could reach them thru that opening. I have not opened the panel on the passenger side.

Check for similar panels.

I cut a 3' X 18" (approx) access hole on the first bay fwd wall behind the fuel tank. Was able to change gen and Hurricane lines. All is good now.
