Tow Car

Hello group: I am going to replace tow car. Currently tow 2004 Jeep  Grand Cherokee 4x4. It is easy to configure to tow and has been an  excellent toad. Considering new Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Ford Edge to  tow 4 down. Can anyone give results of towing the Ford Edge Front Wheel  Drive Vehicle, either 2014 or 2015 which is not available yet. Thank  you in advance. Barrie Boas 1994 Concept 5111.

I own a 2013 Edge w/V-6. The only problem is it need an external charge wire. Seems the computer remains on and the battery will go dead depending on how often the brakes are applied (at least that is my opinion)  some time it will go for hundreds of miles and the next time it is less than a hundred miles before dead. Have an even-brake with an internal charge system an according to road aster this is a problem with the for and Lincoln  As for towing it tows great no other problems Mike

Chevy does a better job with tow cars than Ford.  And I have been a ford guy for 20 years so I do not say this out of prejudice.  But when we decided we wanted to tow 4 down, I had an all wheel drive Ford and decided against using it.  We traded it on a 4x4 Suburban which is infinitely better for the purpose.  Like a jeep, the Chevies with the 2 speed transfer case can be towed 4 down with a simple 30 second procedure which I have online here: http://www. right

and it will NOT run the battery down, requires no modifications to the OEM vehicle, does not advance the odometer (ours is 2009) and the steering is automatically unlocked even though the transmission is left in park... the transfer case is in neutral and the wheels roll free

In my opinion even with all the negative press that Jeep vehicles get,I really think for towing they are hard to beat (easy to set up, no mileage or speed restrictions) I think it is still the rule of thumb if it has a neutral position on the FWD control switch, you can tow it !!
