Electrical problem

Yahoo Message Number: 100051
We went camping last weekend and had a great time. The last morning we tripped a breaker or something.  I still have the same problem while plugged in at home - no power to any of the receptacle outlets.  Have checked the power at the surge protector and at the distribution panel inside - both have 120 volts output.  The microwave oven works but the TVs will not power on.  I don't have any power on the GFI outlet in the bedroom after taking it out and measuring the inputs on the back. Have a full size refrigerator and it will not turn on either.  I have a Xantrex inverter. I brought the coach last year and I am still learning all of the tricks. What is the next thing to check?  Thanks.

Gene,

Check the circuit breakers on the Xantrex inverter/charger.  Your entertainment systems are powered through one of those circuits and the microwave is powered through the other.

Gene, in addition to the Xantrex breakers, there should also be two circuit breakers in an auxiliary breaker box somewhere. On my coach, the inverter is supplied by two 20 amp breakers out of the house breaker panel. There is also another set of breakers fed from the inverter in my first bay behind my passenger front wheel.m Two breakers in that box; one for the microwave and one for all the other outlets in the coach.

I am looking for the Xantrex breakers. There are some push button breakers in the bay aft of the battery bay but I don't know how they work so not sure how to test them.

I already checked the GFI and there is no power to the back so I know that is. Ot the problem.

Thanks,
Gene

Look in the battery bay. There is an access panel over the batteries with 4 wing nuts. Remove the panel and you should see the inverter with two breakers. One is probably tripped.

Gene, the breakers are integral to the Xantrex.  I think there is a 30 amp and a 20 amp.  They are both small push button I think.

Thank you Dick.  That was where the two breakers were. Everything now works.

I have similar breakers in my back cargo storage compartment, passenger side on the back wall. Miss placed cargo sometimes trips these breakers.

If you have a meter make sure you have 120 volts at the input when plugged in or gen on. This would be the common factor between charging and outlets. Transfer switch would only affect output not charger.
