Webasto

Hey    Guy's : I am hoping that someone that owns a Prevost CC can answer a question for me. On the 1994 Edmonton that I had the misfortune of entering my life,I have not been able to get the Webasto to fire off. The literature says that if you try to start the unit and the heat lamp doesn't light that chances are it has went into "lock down"mode. To get it out of the lock down there is supposed to be an 8 amp fuse that you need to replace. Therefore my guestion. Does anyone know where CC installed this fuse on the Prevost units?? Webasto shows the fuse holder on the unit it self but it is not there. Somewhere else in the literature, it said that it was in the vehicles 12v panel. There are fuses on the card but they are all good and there is no 8 amp on the card. In the Snakes den under the drivers seat, there ar a zillion cb's but no fuse that I can find

First thing I would do is check for power at the unit. If it's present then the issue is in the webasto. Was this a factory install or did CC install it? If it  was factory install (Prevost) then you'll be able to get the schematics from them. Not sure where you're located but if near us (Sumner, Wa.) I'd be happy to get it up and running, or you can pull the head and send it to us and we'll repair it on our test  bench.

Jim:Thanks for your reply.I am actually in North Carolina, but I would have no problem sending it to you for repair. The deal is trying to figure out if this is a problem with the Webasto or a problem somewhere in CC's wiring.I think this may be a hy-bred in stall.looks to me like the unit is Prevost installed with CC doing the control wiring.I do have voltage at the unit. When I move the thermostat to call for heat, a contactor on card #16 makes and the pump comes on. The "RUN"light does not come on. The literature says when this happens the furnace has went in to lock down mode and to restore operation replace the 8A fuse in the "Drivers area" but if there is an 8A fuse on this bus any where, I sure can't find it. This is a 1993 bus, 1994 conversion.

I am in Asheville N C ! I bought this thing from a dealer in S C who had bought it at a Bank Bankruptcy sale. They told me some of the things that was wrong but they didn't scratch the surface!! It does run and shift good but all these other things keep popping up. Seems I get one thing fixed and two more pop up then by the time i get those working, the one I had fixed has quit working again. Ah !!The joy of owning a bus!! I am about ready to just keep it as a status symbol. It's like kids and dogs. You enjoy getting the compliments even if they ain't worth a hoot!!!  lol.
