Built in vacumn

We had a dirt devil in our Alpenlite. Don't want this brand, but wondering if anyone has installed a built in vacuum and where in the coach it was installed. We have a 2004 Allure. Tell us where you put it and the brand and whether you are happy with it.

Hello Sqdncr, We also installed a Dirt Devil. Our unit has a 25 foot hose that gives us front to rear access with one port. This panel is located below the pantry in the cabinet next to the cook top. The power unit is in the basement just below, next to the water filter. It's been  trouble free since instillation in the fall of 2007.

We used to have a compact canister vacuum in our coach. A year ago I bought a Dyson DC59 cordless. It is said to have the same power as a full size corded vac, and I believe it.  It is hi-tech throughout. Brushless digital motors, and a high energy battery. It has a separate motor in the brush head giving the brush a lot of power, and the brush has a row of carbon bristles for doing a great job on bare floors. It has a quick empty canister which is the perfect size for a coach. With a motor in the brush head it is very well balanced and extremely light at under five pounds. Being so light, and cordless, you can zip through the coach very quickly and do a really good job. I paid for all these features @ $500, but its worth every penny. It's a little less than that now.

We have a pre-owned and rebuilt Rainbow with the water separator and  all the attachments we use for the coach.  It resides under the bed when not in use.  As we have fuzzy friends that travel with us, its important to have a great vacuum that can remove all the cat hairs embedded in the carpet, upholstery. etc.  The water filter prevents the last gram of dust and dander from being emitted into the air.  The vacuum can also be used to suck up wet spills from leaking plumbing,  accidental over flows, or spills.  There are no bags or filters to replace. Emptying the tank and collected pollution is not for the faint of heart, but that's why interior  care is my job.  We tried Orecks and Sharks at home along with Kirbys and found the New Rainbows to be superior performers. So the others never made it to the coach.  Finding a good B3 for $250.00  was a find considering new series are over $1600 with all the bells and whistles.  TWI 2004 Intrigue 11731
