Have you looked under the coach for leaking ATF fluid? Have to ask - did you flip the on/off switches to on?

Thank you for the quick reply. Unfortunately, I'm not near the coach and a good friend of mine, who is not a novice being around coaches, is helping me drive it. The cabinet where the slide controls are has a key to turn it on/off and a switch to operate the slides. I have also sent him the printed instruction in the CC Manual. But I will remind him about the fluid.
Regards,

I just spoke with my friend over the phone. He tried starting the engine, disengage and engage parking brake, tried the slides with engine running, off, gen. running, no apparent ATF leaks under the coach but to no avail. He said that the pump starts but no movement of the slides.  None of the four slides move.
Could it be a fuse, or breaker? I'm out of any ideas to offer him.  If any one has had a similar issue and would like to share their solution, I would be very appreciative! Regards to all!

There are manual release valves on the pump manifold. If one of then has  loosened a little it will cause what you are experiencing. It soul also be the  power to the solenoids is not working. This could be a fuse or bad connection.  Since none of them work I would suspect fuse or bad plug at the manifold  solenoids.

Did he check the fluid in the tank under the drivers seat, first bay. If it is low the slides will not work.

Your 08 Affinity slides systems are the same as my Magna I believe. What I have found is that the brake air pressure has to be up. Also there is a reset switch on the slide control panel. Cycle the reset and see if that helps.

Our Magna requires the coach to be leveled or the slide panels will blink yellow alerts and will not move slides.  The slides are heavy is the reason.  Once we level the HWH air bags on each corner, the slide panels yellow lights go steady and slides are operatable.

I had a hard time getting used to operating the slides on my coach. I finally learned that when the switch was pressed to extend/retract that it had to be held down for what seemed to be too long a time for the slide to move.
Once the ignition switch, parking brake, slide panel key switch, and fluids are all in their correct state, the batteries must be fully charged or the engine must be running.
Then, and only then, press AND HOLD the extend/retract switch. The slide will move very slightly at first then the hydraulic pump will kick in and the slide will move as it should.
At least that's the way it works on my coach. Granted it's older than yours.

On my 08 Allure when the hwh is in the leveling mode, the slides won't move.

Thanks for the reply.  I'm just curious as to what does the brake air pressure have to do with the slides? They are not air operated slides, but hydraulic.
He checked underneath the coach -no apparent fluid leak, but he didn't actually check the fluid level in the container.

Good point! He didn't look for any loose valves - I think that will take some more technical knowledge. Thanks for your suggestion.

I don't know why about the air pressure but if I have dumped the air bags, the pressure will be down and the slides will not activate. Start the engine, bing the air pressure up until you get a travel light and all is good. This has happen a number of times for me.

Robert,

The answer is in you statement. The coach must be in the travel mode for  the slides to operate. If you have manually dumped the suspension, it will not  be in travel mode. Once you start the coach and it build up air it can go into  the travel mode.

Robert. The HWH system is designed so the coach is level before the slides can extend If the coach frame is not stress free the slides will open but they damage the seals when The slide is moved back into the coach opening  Bob. 06 intrigue. 12047

I just want to report that the problem with the slides not retracting was a bad solenoid. I wish I knew which one, though. When I went to pick up my coach, the tech who had worked on it was not there that day and no one else could tell me what exactly he did.
Thank you all to those who offered thoughts and suggestions!

OK. Solenoids do go bad but they usually just need new O rings.  We just never had one quit working all of the sudden.  There are 2 HWH solenoids per slide.  One pushes a slide in and one pushes it out.  All of them locate in side the outside bay under the driver seat.  I would want to know the one that got replaced for your own record.

My question is if each slide out has two solenoids, for a total of 8 for all four slide outs then if one solenoid is bad why it would affect all the other three slides, OR, is there a master solenoid?
