Slide drifts open

We recently replaced one of the drive shafts on the driver's side front slide and now that slide opens 1-2 inches while on the road. The motor will pull it right back in but it won't stay long. Any ideas?

Jim: I assume you've checked the fluid levels; all coaches vary somewhat in the configuration of the slides to be open/closed when checking the fluid, so I  cannot comment on which slides should be open/closed when checking yours, but it's worth a try in the first stage; secondly, I would check the valves, since the pressure needs to be equalized, as I understand, so that the pressure is the same when the slides are open/closed. I know you can switch valves in orfer to check function and after that, I'm at a loss. Hope this helps, Roger Harper

Jim, Have you made sure the lever on the motor inside the pass thru compartment is in the lock position.

Jock,

That was it, the clutch was in the wrong position.

Thanks much,

The valve that the leak detector operates can fail. You might need to change both the detector and the valve.
