Considering an Intrigue

Yahoo Message Number: 101668
Group,

I am looking to replace my Monaco Windsor and have been looking at a 07 CC Intrigue 530 Ovation II 42'. I am wondering if there is any information this group may have about problems or what i should look for. I am familiar with Monaco products but not Country Coach.

Any information or advice is welcomed and appreciated.

I'm sure everyone will tell you about the aluminum radiator problems, but that affects a lot of other coaches other than CC.
My big thing would be the PTO. Make sure it has had the wet kit installed and if not, get it done right away. It is easily installed and isn't that expensive.

For a few years and a few models, Country Coach also used a CAT transmission with the CAT engine. As I understand it, they had some teething problems. Good chance the coach your looking at has the bigger Allison 4xxx transmission. But worth checking to see if it is the CAT, and then doing your own research on if that is a 'no go' from your perspective. (And note, I like CAT. Not knocking them, and understand why the left OTR. They have a solid history of backing their products thru the decades....).

The Intrigue is the sweet spot in the CC lineup. Get the BIG BLOCK engine, upgraded materials and component options from the Tribute/Inspire/Allure models. The 42' gets you a bit more storage underneath then the 40' does, and talking with 42' owners, very few places that a 42' will not fit into that a 40' will. Not being 45', in many states, you do not need a special drivers license. If it all checks out well, tires and batteries replaced (Or factored into the purchase price for replacement. As the tires are a now item, an the batteries of an 07 model year are towards the end of their lifecycle.), good general overall care - you should be happy with such a fine coach.

Best of luck to you,

Smitty
