ride height fuse

Today we hit a really rough highway 98 from Page, AZ to Monument Valley, Utah.  We bucked up an down for about 70 miles.  The rough road started immediately after a severe drop off of about 8 inches in a construction area on highway 89.  For a long while I though we had busted a shock mount or a ride height valve.  Still not sure but after awhile we hit a smooth road and all seemed well.  In 119,000 miles in this coach I have never had such an experience.  After a lot of thought I think maybe the period between dips and hills was such that it was out of phase with the length of the coach.  It would be handy to know where the HWH fuse is for this coach if anyone knows.  We have the older mercury in a dish level detector not the newer digital one located in the DR side front bay.  Clues welcome.

Can't help you with your fuse question, sorry.

I can verify that the roads in the entire area, including 98, are very uncomfortable in a large vehicle.  They weren't any better pulling the 5th wheel than they are in the Country Coach.

Lyle,  my fuse is located under the dash in front of the passenger seat inside a large metal box.  I have to remove a small cabinet to gain access.  Some coaches have only a panel to remove.

These CC's are tough birds.  I hear your pain on that highway.  We were coming out of Shiprock to Gallop, NM. I heard the road was iffy and tried to be careful.  Not quite enough, my wife slipped out of her seatbelt to get a bottle of water out of the reefer.  No sooner did she unbuckle, I saw the dip coming too late, tried to slow, got down to about 40 and the coach went flying.  No warning, no signs.  She wound up, literally, laying on the dash.  Fortunately, my wife was OK, if not a little banged up. I found a place to pull over and looked underneath expecting a broken antisway bar at the minimum.  Couldn't find any damage (yet . . .).  Of the three major  incidents we've had with the coach in nine years on horrific roads, it's all been going through New Mexico.  Won't even travel through the state any longer . . .thanks to New Mexico's Highway Department . . .

Can you please be a bit more specific about the location of the poor road conditions on rt. 89 around Page, AZ.  We may encounter the same locations that you experienced.

In a couple of weeks we will be traveling from Salt Lake City down to Flagstaff.  My computer has routed us through Page, rt.89 down to Flagstaff.  Any alternates look like they would take us a couple of hundred miles out of the way.

Having driven New Mexico roads for over 50 years for work and pleasure  I know your pain, but nothing

compares to California for poor roads.  There is a lot of seismic activity in New Mexico.  They can

completely rebuild a road and 5 years later the road is like a roller coaster.  So you never drive over 55 unless on Interstates and sometimes that isn't wise either.  Two lane roads with narrow shoulders are

always to be suspect and wider roads should be viewed with a narrow eye.
Roads on the eastern plain

are much smoother and of less concern.  But compared to the roads of New England New Mexico is a

breeze.  TWI 2004 intrigue 11731

Den, my bucking bronco drive was on hiway 98 out of page eastbound.  I haven't been on 89 south of Page for a few years.  The gentleman  parked next to me here at Monument Valley told me his drive on that section a few days ago was somewhat rough but very doable.
