We have the Goodyear G670's on our motor home, 295/80R 22.5. Haven't had any problems with them. 2 of them are a little over 5 years old and have no cracks that I can see.

I took off my Continentals only because they were getting old. They were wearing perfectly and rode nice.  I replaced them with 275/80R-22.5 Goodyear G670RV's.
 The G670's are compounded to resist checking and cracking and that has been the case after about 6 years.  However, after about 15,000 miles I discovered that the fronts were developing a strange wear pattern on the second rib in from the outside.  I took it to Henderson's in Grants Pass, OR for an alignment.  After checking it they said it was OK and that the tires were bad.
 Later I took it to Kennedy's in Eugene for confirm and they told me the same thing and that they had encountered this problem on numerous coaches running Goodyear G670RV's.  They wanted to replace them with Michelin's but being frugal I just had them move two from the rear to the front.  After another 15,000 miles the tires rotated to the front are developing the same wear pattern.
 These tires are now reaching the end of their life so I will be replacing them soon with another brand.  Not sure what but no more G670RV's for me.

I had the same problem. This is a known problem with Goodyears called River Wear. In addition, I had a front tire blowout on a Goodyear that was only four years old, which caused $10,000 in damage to the coach. I would not drive on Goodyears if you gave them to me for nothing.

Jim  the Goodyear's are known for a ware pattern called "river row" on the steer axel with Independent front suspension  Bob. 06 intrigue. 12047

Stan, Goodyear G-670's do not wear well as steer tires.  Mine lasted only 2 years and alignment was good.  OK for drive tires.  Jim Veen '96 Intrigue #10299, Palm Desert, CA.

I just replaced my 8 year old Goodyear G67RV tires with Michelins, my steer tires were fine, no undue wear so I had a different experience with the Good year, I actually can tell no difference between the ride of Michelin and the Goodyear tires. I only replaced them due to age, no cracking no uneven wear on any of the tires. I went with Michelins because of the FMCA advantage program.

I had Michelin.  At five years they had to be replaced due to dry rot. Replaced the front with Michelins and the rear with Hankook. 3000 miles and so far no problems. Rides and handles great.

Add Bridgestone tires to your research.  I'm very pleased with them on my coach.

Thank You for the information, but Bridgestone does not make tire size we need.
After talking to three tire experts, here is my final decision. Since this is probably my last set of tires, I am following the recommendation of three tire experts.

First Choice is to place Michelins all the way around -- out of my price range

Second Choice would be to mount the two Michelin XZAZ in the front and four Toyo on rear

Third would be to mount 6 Toyos

Based on my discussion with tire experts I am going for the second choice. The rear does not have a major effect on the ride or steering. They just come along for the ride.

Stan - I see no problem on your planned approach.

You still might want re-read my long earlier post about the FMCA Michelin Advantage Program. Just the savings on one of our tires, was enough to have paid for a years FMCA membership, if not already a member.

And, if they come in our size, I still feel the BF Goodrich ST230's would serve you well on there rear, and save you some coin over the Toyo's. (Maybe, as perhaps you have killer prices on these from your supplier. And the Toyo's are good tires. Try to  be sure they are Over The Road, vs Regional, Toyo's.)
