Front Tires on 2007 Allure

Yahoo Message Number: 103117
Hi All,

I know there have been a lot of comments regarding the Michelin XZA's.  I have them on all eight wheels and really get great wear and good ride.  I am preparing to replace two tires and will move the new tires to the steering axle.  My question is I currently run 295 80 r 22.5 and wanted to know if anyone has upgraded their fronts to the 315 80r 22.5 on a 2007 Allure? (or similar units)  Want to know if I have the clearance and if my existing wheels are wide enough?

Thanks for the information.

Hello

The 315s are little wider but more importantly they have a good load rating at 9090lbs each. They require a 9 inch wheel which you may already have. If you have acurides the width is stamped on the inside which is visible on the rears.

If you have clearance, they can be put on 8.25", with a Michelin Tire Chart derating of the load. So, you'd end up running a bit higher PSI then a 9 rim.

I came close to doing this and at the same time steeping up a Load Rate level too. But, was finally convinced by others that my stock 12R's were more then adequate for the weight of my front end:)!

And always when doing anything with tires. Go to a shop that is well versed and more concerned with your safety, then just moving tires onto a coach. Validate what you read on the internet, even from Smitty:)! Or others...

Best to you,
