Hi Lee,I believe this is the current Samsung. You can get them at a much lower price if you shop around. If you decide to go this way you won't be disappointed. We've had ours for over three years and have been very happy with it. Did the install myself.

Lee,

I installed the one pictured in my 2005 Inspire, it's the RF18.
It works great, I did not replace my MSW inverter.

We purchased the same Samsung, then called the 197, nearly three years ago. We bought it on sale at Best Buy and had it delivered to Fountain RV in Lakeland FL, who installed it. Best upgrade we've made.

We just did a new black Whirlpool counter depth side by side (WRS571) based on reliability reviews on Consumers report and comments by the technician that came out to tell us the original Amana compressor was done ($680 to fix). He services all brands and sells none, but said that while the Samsung is very nice, parts and repairs cost more and they have a lot more problems than the Whirlpools in his experience. I really shopped dimensions in this journey and it paid off...

We bought it from AJ Madison and they ship for free and no sales tax, price was $1,309 less a $50 Whirlpool rebate for a net of $1,259. Then we decided to buy the 5 year warranty for $139. We've bought a few other appliances from them and had good quick customer service. The shipper is not my favorite, but they show up when they say.

It was delivered to our daughter's house in California and was a quick easy slide out and slide in the new one project.  Just had to remove the doors for both moves and put them back on. The top wood bracket needed a minor trim to work and I used a hidden piece of aluminum angle across the bottom front for the bottom stop - it's more secure than the original.

We'll see how the reliability works out, but we've had it about 4 weeks and it is silent and cold and works well. If I had to do it over again I might consider the the GE or Frigidaire for their temp controls and displays, but they were $500 to $1,000 more. I'm seeing lower amperage draw than the old Amana. Typically at start up about 3.2 to 3.8 amps and running about .8 - 1.2 amps.

You were able to get it thru the front entry door?

We had to remove the doors on the fridges to get the old one out and the new one in. It seems  the only fridge cabinets that would fit through were "counter depth." I rented a  4 wheel furniture dolly to move the fridge into place and that went amazingly easy since the dimensions were within tolerances. My son-in-law and a friend had no trouble coming and going through the front door on our 2005 Magna. Our door opening may be wider than yours?

My Samsung RF-18 went through the front door.
Home Depot delivered the frig, they removed the doors, set it in the coach for me, and reinstalled the doors.
They also removed my old Nocold and hauled it off.
Could not have gone smoother.

Is that the full part number?  I can't find it anywhere, and what is the cubic feet?  I am looking to change our old Dometic and we have Whirlpools in our homes with great reliability.  Our service tech recommended whirlpool.  I would never buy a GE appliance.  Very unreliable.

Home Depot did all that?  I assume your parents own the company.  Wow, not here . . .  congrats.  Well done.

Lon,

Yes they were very accommodating, very competitive in the DFW market.
I also got it on a nice sale $995 plus tax, free delivery and free old refrig removal.
