LOW WATER PRESSURE 2007 TRIBUTE

Hello,

Anyone have any suggestions to troubleshoot low water pressure in our 2007 Tribute?  Water pressure is normal from the shoreside source. When the faucet is first turned on, the water pressure is reasonable.  As the water continues to run, the water pressure diminishes to little more than a drizzle. the problem occurs on both bathroom faucets, the shower and the kitchen faucet.

I installed a new external water filter today with no improvement.  Bypassing the filter also has no effect.

There is no filter under the kitchen sink.  Anyone have other suggestions/info that may be helpful?

there should be a one-way city water check-valve where the water enters the coach.  It may need to be replaced.

On our Inspire there is a water filter on the opposite side of the coach to where your water and sewer hookups are. There is no handle on this door like all the other doors. There is a couple of large sheet metal screws under the bottom of the coach below the door. Remove them and the door swings up exposing the filter. Could be your problem.

I would suggest cleaning the faucet nozzle screens.

A few years ago, on a trip to Fairbanks, Alaska, I had the same thing happen, with the same indications.  I pulled into a Home Depot parking lot in Fairbanks, and found that on the passengers side, just forward of the right rear duals, and just aft of the right side small storage access door, even though you don't notice it, is a hinged door that is about 4 feet long.  Lay down under the right side of the coach, forward of the rear wheels, and look up.  You will see two screws that maintain this door in the closed position.  Remove these retaining screws, and the door/side of the coach, will simply hinge upward.  Raise it about 60 degrees, and prop it open.  Then, viewing from the right side, you will see a large filter, located in the rearward section, just to the right of the fresh water tank.  I found that this filter was plugged up, causing the, almost total stoppage of water.  I attempted to make a number of telephone calls, but there was no replacement to be had, save ordering it from a warehouse, on the east coast.  The price, as I recall, was about $295,  I found this to be ridiculous and chose to modify the water system.  I went into Home Depot, and purchased for about $20, the needed pvc items to bypass the filter.  Once accomplished, the water pressure was just fine.  I always filter my water as I fill the the fresh water holding tank, so, to date, I haven't replaced the original filter.  Everything functions just fine.

You do have a filter on the passenger side in the bay that does not open like the rest, no handle. There are two screws on the bottom. The filter is there along with both the black and gray tanks. You will need to support the door/bay cover.

Don't forget to check the outside faucets in the plumbing bay.  If one of them is in the on position this could result in low pressure.

My 1999 Allure has an internal filter that is accessed from the storage compartment just forward of the fresh water plumbing bay. When this filter was dirty I got little if any water as you described.

I would first replace the whole house filter on the curb side behind the basement door without a latch and then clean all the faucet screens with vinegar.  Doing both of those solved our issue.

Don't think anyone mentioned an inline water pressure regulator.  Not sure your coach has one but my Allure has a Shur Flo pressure regulator built into the fresh water inlet.  If that regular has failed or maybe crusted up with mineral deposits, that may reduce pressure/flow.  I recently replaced mine since the check valve in it failed.  Easy to do.

Mark, my regulator is part of/connected to the fresh water inlet and, yes, the regulator part is behind the wall.  I can open the filter access door and look down at the regulator.  It is easily removed and replaced by disconnecting the water line on the inside and removing three screws from the outside.
