Hello fellow CC owners,

I can't say I'm crazy about the format of this group - it's very different from other forums I'm on. But I'm happy to exchange info with fellow CC folk, so here I am.

Susan and I have been RV'ing in one way or another since we got married in 1969, when we started with a small pop-up tent trailer. Our last rig was a 36' 5th wheel Toy Hauler that we wandered around the US in for over 6 years, including three round trips from our home near Seattle to Key West and back. We're becoming Snow-Birds, which we think is a very good thing.

A 7-month odyssey around the US 4-corners last year convinced us to move up from the 5'er to a Coach, and a few months or looking and research convinced us to go Country Coach. We bought an '08 Allure 470 MacKenzie Bridge, 40' tag-axle Cat 425 from Premier RV in Junction City the 1st of August, and are getting immersed in the community and learning the rig. It's for sure a bit more complex than a 5th wheel. But it's SO much more comfortable getting around in, and is so much easier to handle (backing in no longer an issue!) that we know we made the right choice. I'm putting a Hydralift on the back for our BMW Moto and am debating options for a toad. Currently thinking MINI or Fiat 500 but happy to hear other opinions.

We've joined FMCA and are looking at the CC Friends Int'l, in addition to a couple generic RV forums. Be happy to have advice on those and other organizations that you all find useful. And I'm looking forward to joining the conversation here from time to time...

You will find a wealth of information on this site. Do not hesitate to ask a question you might think is unimportant. Someone else needed the answer to that issue. CC are the best coach on the road. I think as time goes by you will come to appreciate just how good they are. Have fun and enjoy your new ride. Welcome to the CC family.

Welcome, we've only been doing this for about 1 year now and love our coach and this great group; the knowledge I've picked up here has saved our bacon quite a few times.

I'm riding a BMW and we have a hydralift that works great. Just finished 6 weeks in Oregon and Washington both the coast and the mountains with lots of great motorcycle rides.

David,

Welcome. I too have a coach from the same year group. I believe that is a cat engine c-12 (455hp) and it's a good one.
I live in Brevard NC most of the year, my coach is down in FL right now.

Tag is the extra set of wheels behind the drive wheels longer coaches have them. your coach # should be in the bathroom, behind one of the mirror cabinets. It will be the last four #s and should start with a 5

Check that the rollers at the top of door are tight. If they get loose, the door will go ajar. Very simple fix.
