Will this significicantly increase road noise, and if so is there anything I can do reduce the road noise ?

Stan,

I replaced the carpet in my 2005 Inspire a couple of years ago.
My DW and I haven't noticed any additional road noise.
I replaced my carpet with engineered hardwood, it turned out great.

Ron,

When you installed the engineered wood did you have to glue or is it floating ?

Stan,

Glued using urethane adhesive. Works Great! This is not as hard a job as you may think. I didn't have to remove any seating I simply cut my carpet just behind the drivers & passengers seats and used molding to make the transition. You can't see the transition unless you lift up the seat skirts.

Adhere the engineered wood with urethane adhesive. Won't move. That is the method I do 100% of the installs. We use some oriental rugs in our coach over the maple floors.

We want to replace the carpet in our Allure. The initial plan was to just replace with new, higher grade carpet (we don't have much carpet up front plus the bedroom). I've about got the DW talked into letting me replace with plank LVT but I am not sure how to deal with the big LR flat floor slide. The bottom of the slide is smooth metal and slides easily over the carpet. Not sure how it will work sliding over LVT. Plus the carpet on the slide floor is bound and overlaps just enough to hide the nylon ramp in front of the slide. Not sure how I can deal with that.

pull up your carpet and pad

loose lay a couple pieces of the lvt- run your slide in and see if it impacts those loose pieces if it does, you can still install the lvt and then use a couple of those to let the slide run on top of the main floor how will you transition to the kitchen tile will be to use a vinyl T molding
